Turano Bread, Italian, Pane Turano
From our family to yours since 1962. The Turano Family Heritage: Mariano Turano immigrated to America from Calabria, Italy, in the pursuit of his dream to provide a better life for his family. In 1962 he founded Turano Baking Company, a 1,000 square foot bakeshop in Chicago, Illinois. This small bakery made a big impression amongst surrounding neighborhoods due to the generations of authentic Italian recipes Mariano brought with him from his hometown of Cosenza. As years have passed, Mariano's sons, Renato, Umberto, and Giancarlo have made it their mission to carry on the tradition of excellence, creativity and reliability their father began over fifty years ago, making Turano Baking Company the nation's leading premium bread bakery. As the next generation of Turano family members contribute to the company's success, they carry with them the same passion for the art of bread making that their grandfather had when he come to America over half a century ago. Each loaf is made with care and baked perfectly to create a crisp, golden crust, then dusted with flour to give the authentic handcrafted appearance that Turano is known for. The Pane Turano is the original recipe on which Turano Baking Company was build and has set the standard for all of our artisan quality breads to follow. For questions or comments call 800.458.5662.
